ECU Remapping/Chip tuning as it’s known, enables engineers(not mechanics) to tune all aspects of your vehicles performance and engine management without getting their hands dirty. You can expect to get an instant increase in overall performance by up to 40% (depending on the make and model of your vehicle). Chip Tuners strive to achieve best gains in torque, performance and fuel economy.

You will definitely notice a difference straight away! We go on a test drive with you, after the remap to ensure you’re ok.

Because we are actually fine tuning your vehicle, everything should improve. This means that a remap to produce more power and torque should also provide slightly better fuel economy. We cannot guarantee this unless you choose to go for one of our specific ‘fuel economy’ tunes.

We can do a tune specifically for economy where you can expect to achieve a better cruising fuel consumption of between 2 and 9 mpg. With one of our performance tunes, you may see a slight increase in economy. With a power performance tune you can expect a slight decrease in fuel consumption.

Our stage 1 Reprogramming is designed to work inside the safety margin imposed by the manufacturer. This is 100% reliable and we guarantee the same engine life.
For those who want even more power, we have some cars also stages 2 and 3 are available, this approach does have a number of potential risks related to longevity.

Not really. Servicing your vehicle should be done as and when the manufacturer recommends. If we have provided you with a performance tune, we would usually recommend that a customer gives their car an additional oil change between services and also checks their air filter etc.

Note: A specific fault does not include clutch slip on any vehicle with over 100,000 miles on the original clutch. Therefore no refund will be given.

Yes, your vehicle is being ‘fine-tuned’. Although your fuel consumption may go up or down depending on the type of tune you opted for, it will be burning the fuel more efficiently due to being finely tuned.

The manufacturer can do what we do, but the manufacturer has many reasons for not providing you with optimum performance and economy when you buy the car;

Marketing: Manufacturers often use the exactly the same engine in a range of cars – even different makes – and need to adjust performance according to the position they want the car to take in the product range. If all models had the same power, the premium models wouldn’t sell so well and justify the extra price.

Mass markets: Fuel quality varies from country to country, and manufacturers tune the engine to a standard that can handle poor quality fuels rather than taking into account that some countries, such as the UK, have top quality fuels. They also tune to allow for poor quality oils and poor maintenance programs.

Future ‘upgrades’: The engine is sometimes held back in new cars so that mid-life face lift models can be given more power a year or two after they are first introduced.

Government Testing: The strict and artificial testing conditions for fuel consumption figures by European Governments means that manufacturers tune an engine to optimize fuel consumption for the test, but in real-world conditions, their tuning robs the car of power, introduces flat spots and actually degrades fuel consumption. A remap ‘repairs’ these weaknesses in the manufacturers tuning to restore proper power, eliminate flat spots and improve fuel consumption in real-world conditions.

The beauty of the remap is that this process is completely reversible without any trace, therefore if within 7 days you want it changed back, we will carry it out free of charge with a full refund. If after 7 days you wish to reverse it then there is no charge for the process but NO REFUND will be given unless there is a specific issue arising from a fault associated with the remap itself.

OBD remapping is the modern technique replacing chipping. It reads and writes on your ECU via the OBD port this is still reprogramming the chip but in a safer better way. Tuning boxs work only to either increase injection duration or rail pressure. More advanced systems also increase boost pressure. Cheap and simple tuning boxs do nothing more than fool your ECU or trick the pressure sensor on the fuel rail into lifting the pressure beyond acceptable levels. We alter thirty plus maps on some vehicles to achieve the proper results ensuring reliable smooth performance which works hand in hand with the Engine Managements Diagnostic Systems. This is the best method for a complete and proper tune.

If you wish to sell the car with the map on then no problem, if you wish to have it reversed back to standard after a period of time then again no problem.

Usually there is no charge.

This is up to you. We have to advise that you inform your insurance companies that the remap has been carried out but it is extremely difficult to detect. Ultimately it is your responsibility.

After an appointment is made, most cars take about 1-3 hours of work, this varies a lot from car to car because we adjust each car individually and often do this several times before the result is perfect. We do not release the car if we are not satisfied. You will need to leave the car with us and return when this is done.

What is Payment Assist?

You will pay a deposit of 25% of the total bill via your debit card on the day, followed by three more equal monthly payments from the debit card – that’s it.

There genuinely isn't one. Quite simply, rather than incurring the cost of borrowing money from other sources, use Payment Assist and pay no interest or fees on the funds you need, providing your payments are made in line with the payment plan.

Do you carry out a check on my personal credit status? 
We simply check that your card has adequate funds to pay the 25% deposit and the address registered to your debit card, but no ‘footprint’ is left on your credit status and this on-line check takes literally two seconds.

Do I pay any charges? 
None at all, the payment plan is totally interest and fee free and is designed to support you when you need it most
